Moving from another verification bot

Switch to Qreate Verification from Double Counter or any other verification bot without leaving the server unprotected.

If your server used Double Counter, which reported a breach on 4 October 2026, or any other verification bot, this is the order to move in. The point of the order is that your server is never without a gate: the old bot stays until the new flow has been tested.

Switch in this order

  1. 1Open Verification, turn it on and pick the verified role. Choose web verification if you want a human check before the role is granted.
  2. 2Check that Discord's rules screening is on for your server (Server Settings, then Community), so members agree to the rules before they are sent a link.
  3. 3Set up roles and channels so that people without the verified role see only your gate, and the verified role sees the rest. Qreate needs Manage Roles, and its role has to sit above the verified role in your role list.
  4. 4Test the whole path with a second account: join, accept the rules, open the link, pass the check, and confirm the role arrives and the right channels open.
  5. 5Only now remove the old bot, from Server Settings, then Integrations. Check what roles or channels it created and tidy them up by hand.
Heads up. Do not remove the old bot first. A server with no verification at all is the easiest one to raid, and you will not know the new setup works until you have tested it.

What carries over

Nothing is imported from the old bot: its settings, its member list and its logs stay with it. Members who already hold your verified role keep it, and Qreate does not ask them to verify again. Only new arrivals go through the new flow.

While you are at it

  • Tell your members that staff will never DM a link to re-verify. People who verified through a breached bot may receive phishing that uses their username or email.
  • Open your server's integrations list and read what every bot can actually do. A verification bot needs to manage one role and see one channel. Anything beyond that is worth taking away, whichever bot it is.

What a verification attempt records

Each attempt records a signal derived from the member's connection, some browser signals and the times involved, whether or not the optional repeat-account and proxy checks are on. Qreate does not publish a retention period for this yet, because it has not set one it would promise. When it does, this page will say so.

If you want help moving over, ask in the Qreate Discord and we will go through your setup with you.
