Connect Qreate to your AI client

Set up your Discord server by talking to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or any other AI client that supports MCP. What it can reach, what it will never do, and how to disconnect.

On this page

Qreate runs an MCP server, so any AI client that supports MCP servers can connect to it. ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor are common examples. Once connected, you set your server up by describing what you want. Qreate reads the server, works out what would have to change, shows you the plan, and applies it once you agree.

The quick way

For Claude, open Qreate in the Claude Connectors Directory and press Connect. For ChatGPT, open Qreate in ChatGPT and install it. Either way, Qreate then asks you to sign in with Discord and approve the connection.

By hand

  1. In your AI client, add a connector, plugin or MCP server (the name depends on the client) and give it the address below.
  2. The client sends you to Qreate to sign in.
  3. You are shown a screen naming the client and listing exactly which of your Discord servers it would reach.
  4. Press Connect. Nothing is connected until you do.

Claude

In Claude's connector settings, add a custom connector named Qreate with the address above. Connect it, sign in with Discord and approve the connection.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, press the plus button, and paste the address above as the MCP server URL.
  3. Create the plugin, then open it and press plus to install it.
  4. On the ChatGPT homepage, switch the tab from Chat to Work, start a chat, type @ and pick Qreate.

Cursor

In Cursor's MCP settings, add an MCP server named Qreate with the address above. Connect it, sign in with Discord and approve the connection.

Claude Code

Add Qreate as an HTTP MCP server, then open /mcp in Claude Code to sign in with Discord and approve the connection.

claude mcp add --transport http qreate https://mcp.qreate.gg/mcp
Anyone can register an AI client with Qreate, and we have not checked them. Connect one only if you recognise where the request came from.

What it reaches

Only the servers you administer, and only while the connection lasts. Not servers you have simply joined, and not anyone else's. Qreate checks this itself on every request, so nothing you type and nothing the AI decides can widen it.

How a change happens

  1. You say what you want, in your own words.
  2. Qreate reads your server: channels, roles, and how your modules are set up.
  3. It produces a plan and shows you exactly what would be created and changed.
  4. You say yes, or you do not.
  5. It applies the plan and tells you what went through, including anything that did not.
The plan you were shown is stored by Qreate, and applying refers to that stored plan. The AI cannot hand Qreate a different list of changes than the one you saw.

Posting one message

You can also ask it to post a single message, such as an announcement or a release note, into a channel: text on top, a full embed with an image, author and footer, and up to five link buttons. It shows you the message as a draft first and posts nothing. Only after you say yes does it post it, exactly as shown, and it gives you the link. The draft also appears in your dashboard under Announcements, which needs to be switched on.

Planning never posts or changes anything, even on a server where Q may apply changes on its own. If the draft was edited after you saw it, Qreate refuses to post it and shows it again. Posting the same draft twice never sends it twice. If the AI says it could not confirm whether the message went out, look at the channel before asking again.

Put a ping such as @everyone in the text above the embed. Discord never notifies anyone for a mention inside an embed, and Qreate also needs the Mention Everyone permission in that channel for the ping to reach people.

In ChatGPT, the card does the work

In ChatGPT the answer arrives as a card. While Qreate is thinking, that card already shows which server it is about and what you asked for, so you can see it is working rather than watching an empty box.

  • If Qreate asks you something, type the answer into the card and send it from there. It carries on the same request instead of starting a new one.
  • When the plan is ready, Apply is on the card. Pressing it is you saying yes.
  • You can edit any line of the plan. That does not change the plan you were shown: the button then offers to plan your version instead, and you approve that one. Qreate only applies a plan it produced and you saw.

What it will never do

  • Delete a channel, a role or a message. Deleting cannot be undone, so it is not something a connected client can do.
  • Ban, kick or time out anyone.
  • Change what Q itself is allowed to do on your server.
  • Change anything without asking you first. There is no setting that turns that off.

All four are available in the dashboard, where you are the one pressing the button.

If a plan stops working

A plan is tied to your server as it was when the plan was made. If the server changed, or if you asked for a newer plan, applying the old one is refused rather than guessed at. Ask for the plan again and you get a fresh one built on what is there now.

A plan that was already applied cannot be applied twice. That is the same guarantee, not an error.

Disconnecting

Open Account and find the connected clients. Disconnecting takes effect straight away. Anything the client already applied to a server stays as it is, because those changes were made; undo them from the server's own change history if you want them back.
